About our School
The Brave Center Academy (BCA) was created to provide an individualized learning environment for students that struggle in the traditional high school setting. The goal of the BCA is to provide students the opportunity to achieve academic success and ultimately earn a high school diploma from Mandan Public Schools. Enrollment into the Brave Center Academy begins with an application completed by the student. Applications are then reviewed by administration and entrance is based on a variety of factors. Upon acceptance into the BCA, a planning meeting will be scheduled between administration, student, and parent/guardian of minor students to develop an individual graduation plan. If you would like to know more about the Brave Center Academy, feel free to contact Mr. Just, Principal, at (701) 751-6525 or email perry.just@msd1.org. A copy of the BCA application is below and can be emailed directly to Mr. Just.
Parents Right to Know
Federal law allows parents the right to request information on the professional qualifications of the teachers and paraprofessionals in the school. Parents may request a detailed explanation of the licensing, education, and experience of each of our teachers. Parents may request teacher or paraprofessional qualifications information under the Parents Right to Know provisions by contacting the Human Resources Department of the Mandan Public Schools at 701-751-6500

If at any time during the school year a child is taught for four or more consecutive weeks by a teacher who does not meet applicable state licensure requirements at the grade level and subject area in which the teacher has been assigned, parents must be notified by the school in a timely manner.

North Dakota has launched a new website designed to allow patrons to learn more about the schools in their school district. The site features easy-to-read reports on multiple measures of school success highlighting a variety of different areas.

The NDInsight web page, or more commonly referred to as the “Dashboard,” is part of North Dakota’s new accountability system. It is the next step in a series of major shifts in public education that have raised the bar for student learning, transformed testing, and placed the focus on equity for all students. To learn more about the state’s accountability and continuous improvement, visit North Dakota’s ESSA website.
